TIPS:
First aid kits should be easily accessible.
Include any personal items such as medications and emergency phone numbers, or other items your health care provider may suggest.
Make sure torch batteries (if included) are working.
Regularly check expiration dates and replace any used or out-of-date contents.
FIRST AID KIT REQUIREMENTS
OSH requires all employers to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and Regulations 1995 (updated May2001), and provide no less than a full basic first aid kit that is clearly marked, and is easily accessible to any member of the staff.
For companies with over 50 staff, two kits are recommended, and a first aid room should be provided for companies with 100 employees or more.
Under the Health and Safety Act 1992, companies must also have a designated staff member(s) trained to aminimum of Workplace First Aid level (NZQA units 6400, 6401, & 6402) See our services page for outstanding training options.
